"Dancing With Devils" originated with a strong creative vision in its first phase, then evolved into a full-scale documentary project requiring additional funding, extended shooting schedules, and tight logistical coordination.
Balancing shifting roles-Co-Director, DoP, Executive Producer, and Director
-proved challenging amid language barriers and cultural intricacies.

Dual-Phase Complexity

(Challenge)

Chronicle & Conserve Heritage

(Goal)

The film set out to authentically depict the unique customs of Prizzi, highlighting how local residents keep ancient traditions alive despite modern pressures. By weaving intimate interviews and cinematic storytelling, it aimed to preserve cultural memory and underscore the significance of community heritage.

Documented Cultural Tapestry

(Result)

The production concluded with an extensive library of captivating footage, meaningful interviews, and a cohesive narrative framework—underscoring the creative team's commitment to safeguarding a disappearing facet of Sicilian identity. However, unresolved rights issues have placed "Dancing With Devils" in permanent turnaround, leaving behind a compelling yet indefinitely shelved tribute to cultural preservation.
